Thornton-Smith Medal awardees
Each year the discipline of Geomatics awards a medal celebrating the contributions of graduates of the Department of Infrastructure Engineering to the Geomatics industry. The medal honours Associate Professor George James “Jim” Thornton-Smith, the first head of the Department of Surveying at the University of Melbourne from 1949 to 1965.
