Project Details
With the advantages of low construction cost and good stability, suction bucket jacket (SBJ) is widely used as foundations in Offshore Wind Turbines (OWTs). There are a lot of offshore wind farms distributed along the southeastern coast of China, which is prone to typhoons. My current research work focuses on the dynamic response of the SBJ-supported OWTs under storm environments where three loading levels and three loading modes were considered. The dynamic behavior of the superstructure, foundation, and soil-bucket interaction was investigated under various storm scenarios, accounting for three distinct wind speeds, wave heights, and coupled wind-wave loads. The main research methods interest me include the model tests, an integrated finite element (FE) model, and simplified analysis method.
