Wind energy has emerged as a key contributor to global power generation, driven by the rapid expansion of offshore wind developments into deeper waters. Interest towards floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs) has been increasing. FOWTs are secured to the seabed through mooring systems and anchors. Among the various anchoring solutions, plate anchors have attracted growing interest due to their high capacity-to-weight ratio. The performance of plate anchors is strongly influenced by cyclic loading induced by wind, waves, and currents, which can lead to progressive changes in soil behaviour and anchor capacity. This project aims to develop methods to predict the accumulation of displacement in plate anchors under cyclic loading by varying soil density, stress level, and cyclic loading characteristics.
