Empowering Mixed Reality with Artificial Intelligence for Damage Assessment in Large Infrastructures

About

Description In this project, we developed a Mixed Reality (MR) application powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve infrastructure damage assessment. Current methods for evaluating damage to critical infrastructures, such as bridges and tunnels, are predominantly manual. These processes are not only costly but also heavily reliant on the experience and judgment of experts. Our study explores the integration of AI and MR to streamline the inspection process and enhance the identification of damages, including cracks and spalls, in major infrastructures. By leveraging state-of-the-art computer vision technology, we aim to improve the consistency and accuracy of damage assessments, reducing dependency on manual labour while increasing efficiency.
